I know that the KJV is the God breathed and God inspired infallible Words of God and nothing will ever change my mind. Nothing. I carried an NIV for 40 years, while I was a Methodist, I was as lost as the prodigal son. My buddy turned me on to the KJV 5 years ago, I haven't set it back down yet. Only in the last 6 months have I learned how to trace the scriptures from the apostles pens, through Syria, into the Textus Receptus, to the KJV committee. And how all the other Bibles were written from the corrupted Alexandrian texts. All this did was confirm what I already knew.
I respect that. What do you see as major differences in the meaning? Can you give a different example?
Denying the divinity of Jesus Christ. Denying the Trinity. Changing all these verses (3000 of them) so that you cannot reference scripture with scripture, as the Holy Spirit instructs us to do. The KJV is a "closed" book, you do not need an outside source to interpret it.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. John 5:39, KJV
The niv is no better for interpretation than an edition of Good Housekeeping. Try it one time. I was never inspired reading the niv.
Look at the fruits of the KJV, published in 1611, the end of the dark ages and the beginning of the Renaissance, the birth of America, the death of rome, religious freedoms instituted all across the globe.
Look at the fruits of the modern bibles, published in 1881 two World Wars with mass murder and genocide, 95% of the churches are in apostacy, the corruption of the government, unhinged greed, laziness (when was the last time you wrote a letter with a pen) and immorality.
Ask yourself how satan dealt with the Truth of the KJV. By imitating it with defiled versions. Exactly what he did.
It's just obvious.
Well, I think you can reference scripture with scripture, so you and I will just have to disagree and let Jesus sort it out because I do not see the disagreement between the verses.
