For me, the saddest chapter was about youth in the camps. The female prisoners sold themselves to the guards and became pregnant, giving birth to children that would live most of their lives in these camps.
There, they would grow into criminals and steal the little food that was given to the prisoners from the elderly, causing the elderly to die of starvation.
Completely inhumane.

I’ve been meaning to read it for years. I’m abroad on holidays, not sure I’ll be able to get a copy of it, but if I can, count me in!
