Worse than just locking up people's money... now there will be zero confidence in the Chinese banking system, investing in Chinese stock market or China's real estate industry.

What happens when you dis-incentivize people to save or invest... and you forbid them from sending or investing their money overseas?

Answer: They STOP working. Why work, when all you work for is taken from you? This is the moment when you realize you are merely a slave... and the wages were just a token to keep you quietly working.
