Because almost everyone here is a Boomer unfamiliar with /pol/, one of the subchans of 4chan, where the term originated. It comes from centipede, a term that refers to a certain group of memes. The memes started off starkly negative but autists took it and retrofitted it to /pol/ usage, and the term behind it became over time shortened from centipedes to pedes. I'd attach a picture of the meme it all came from but that's not possible here, nor will I link it. It shows a group of leftist dittoheads like predditors each eating the shit from eachother's ass in a line of succession, which was a reference to how the left all eagerly eat up, digest then regurgitate whatever the DS says, and resembles a centipede. Like I said, /pol/ autists kekked it into suitability for kek use, and it became briefly this term of mutual endearment, like anon.
