You've seen life through distorted eyes You know you had to learn The execution of your mind You really had to turn The race is run the book is read The end begins to show The truth is out, the lies are old But you don't want to know
Nobody will ever let you know When you ask the reasons why They just tell you that you're on your own Fill your head all full of lies
The people who have crippled you You want to see them burn The gates of life have closed on you And now there's just no return You're wishing that the hands of doom Could take your mind away And you don't care if you don't see again The light of day
Nobody will ever let you know When you ask the reasons why They just tell you that you're on your own Fill your head all full of lies You bastards
Where can you run to What more can you do No more tomorrow Life is killing you Dreams turn to nightmares Heaven turns to hell Burned out confusion Nothing more to tell, yeah
Everything around you What's it coming to God knows as your dog knows Bog blast all of you Sabbath bloody Sabbath Nothing more to do Living just for dying Dying just for you, yeah
You don't think NIB can be heard as a horrifying warning to not be seduced by the power of lucifer? I am not a believer in god or the devil by the way. It's a fact that Geezer Butler is a christian though and he wrote all the lyrics.
I do think it can be perceived as a warning. But it probably wasn’t. It doesn’t matter if he was a Christian or not. His band promoted a lifestyle often times in contradiction to his personal beliefs.
Oh I thought this was about lyrics that exposed too much and made people think. It's about judging "the Black Sabbath lifestyle."
Well the original thread was about how the cabal killed rock and roll. So as you and I are discussing it that’s in my mind. You commented that there was a theme in heavy metal (you didn’t specify lyrics) about vengeance, and that’s maybe why they hated it. My POV is that the cabal didn’t kill metal and they didn’t care about it (whether it existed or not, whether they spoke about vengeance). And I’m saying they didn’t care about these things bc the bands promoted a certain lifestyle the cabal would be okay with
I’m not judging the black sabbath lifestyle LOL. I use to play guitar, strictly metal. I listened to sabbath a lot. I’m saying there’s more to a bands “theme” than just lyrics. Like sound, images they portray, things they do on stage, off stage. So despite some lyrics about being vengeance, written by christians, they lived lives that the cabal would be okay with. Casual sex, boozing, drugs, so they didn’t hate what the metal bands were doing and did not have to kill it.
I'm not worried about drugs and sex and rock and roll. I'm talking about lyrics that expose the real evil people in the world, not the merely self-indulgent. I stand by what i said. War Pigs? Come on.
