In a surprising turn of events, that's probably part of why it degenerated. The idea that people can't talk politics allowed the evil to get in there and take over all positions of authority with people being hesitant to take a stance on the subject.
It's good in a lot of ways that that whole concept is gone now. The downside is that only far leftist idiotic viewpoints are accepted (generally) in public because our nation's silence also allowed the media to be fully taken over to the point where it exists only to propagandize leftist viewpoints. The upside is that truth is coming out more and more each day.
This was even before everyone watched all of 3 network channels, or all tuned into FDR's Fireside chats religiously.
Folks were not as gullible to degeneracy, but at the same time, they were more naïve to authority. The latter allowing Clowns to take hold, and sell out this nation to bankers and foreign interests.
You had Teddy Roosevelt along with other rich men flying around in hot air ballons molesting children. You had Delano making a fortune from addicting China w/ opium at levels 100x worse than any drug epidemic we have in the US today. You had the Titanic, the execution of Industrialists who opposed the Central Banks. You had planned Economic Depression in the stock market. You had of course, banker World Wars after that.
I'm reminded of the post nostalgia'ing hard over a 80s juicy fruit commercial. I tell you frens, the best time to be alive is TODAY. The best Comms are being sent, today.
You pretty much nailed it with: not as gullible to degeneracy but more naive to authority. Very few people could comprehend back then that insidious and powerful people would actively work towards the destruction of what is good, true and beautiful. You can't blame them for not imagining that, because it is outside of what the majority of us can even actually comprehend as being a motivating factor to life lol.
That said, you're right. So much about this time period absolutely sucks. But at the same time, to have any real shot of fixing these problems, their causes need to be layed bare. Only in these times is that really possible.
Teddy Roosevelt molested children? That's news to me if so. Like the bull moose Teddy?

The connection is lampooned rather bluntly in a South Park episode, a series renowned for absurd humor, made not so absurd to those Comms Aware.
Sounds like BS to me. I've read a biography or two of the man and he hated the suffering of the innocent. He himself went through trauma at the loss of his first wife prior to entering the white house.
Moreover he was a strong McKinley supporter. They thought that Teddy would be easy to manipulate. They were wrong. Kind of like how Hitlery though that Trump would provide an easy win in the 2016 election.
