Which generation? There's 2 generations in the OP.
At any rate, it just goes to show how cowardly we are. Hide your money under a mattress instead of organizing against the central bank. Our forefathers did a lot of "running from responsibility" if i've ever seen it. What gets me is when boomers and whoever else is older than them announce "oh we never trusted the banks" and then gave birth to millenials without passing that info along? I feel like it's all bullshit. All this, "yeah we knew back then" is complete and utter bullshit. So knock it off.
We wouldn't be in this pickle if "everyone already knew". Holy shit.
My grandparents escaped Russia prior to the Revolution. When the Russians told them to turn in their guns - they didn't. When they saw the storm clouds coming and realized they could not do anything to stop it - they sold everything and saved their families. Those that passively stayed behind and thought they were crazy and exaggerating the circumstances, were either killed or put in Gulags. Later, when FDR told them to turn in their gold - they didn't. When they were told to destroy food - they didn't. We were always taught to prep - it was a normal part of life. I was taught all these things.
My father sat me down at 17 and had "the talk" with me - never trust what the government says. He said that there is the story they want you to believe, and then there is what is really going on. I was 7 when JFK was assassinated - I was told then, "they" killed him. My mother taught me to actively get involved when something needed to be changed and not to sit on the sidelines waiting for someone else to save the day. I witnessed her in action several times stepping up to the plate and taking personal responsibility. More often than not, she would be the sole person taking action on an issue that others claimed to support, but at the same time, they politely refused to get involved. The excuses then are as old and tired as they are now.
Things have not changed much from what I can see. Even among those claiming to be awake, many are still running from responsibility like their parents. The thing that people learn is passivity. Many knew what was happening and yet did nothing about it. Things still have not changed. When push comes to shove, how many actually get off their asses and do something besides just voting or complaining about whatever they perceive is wrong? How many Patriots sit around waiting for someone else to ride in and save the day? When the building is on fire, do you run away or do you run to help? Or worse yet, do you stand back and just take pictures on your phone to post to social media?
Hats off to all those that get involved and put it on the line while the rest just sit back and only talk about it. You are the real heroes in this war - and every other war for freedom that has been fought.
