This is off topic but a connection I found interesting.

I just watched the HBO series "Tokyo Vice". It was so good that I bought the book (it's based on a true story). The book was incredible. It's about an American journalist in Japan (the first ever foreigner to work for a Japanese newspaper) who wrote articles about the Yakuza and then worked for the DOJ on a human trafficking report regarding Japan. There was some shady shit with the Yakuza being allowed into the USA to get liver transplants at UCLA - jumping the line and getting healthy livers from deceased Americans instead of Americans getting them. Not just 1, but 4 Yakuza got these special privileges from the State Dept, and UCLA. UCLA received millions of dollars.

Anyway, in the Acknowledgements at the end he thanked Lara Logan for her help.

I just thought that was interesting. File it away for later, you never know what is going to come out.
