I thought you didn't need the Word?
I love the word........ Jesus Christ. The letter gets a bit boring, especially that Old Testament stuff.
I just finished a 700 page study on Genesis, a two volume 1300 page study of the Minor Prophets and just started 600 pages of Exodus. To begin to describe that vast riches that God has placed in the Old Testament, which you can only discover by learning them.
That's cool, Paul called all his religious learning dung, compared to the excellence of the knowledge of Christ.
Paul was a Pharisee before he was saved, he spent his time killing Christians. This would be the "religious learning" that he referenced. The knowledge of Jesus Christ were the words spoken to him by Jesus Christ. That he wrote down and gave to us.
All of this is in the Bible you just have to read it.
Yes, everyday uncover another little treasure that just takes your breath away.
Deuteronomy 30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
You don't think he's talking about the letter do you?
Then why did He give the law? Because man lives his life based on what feels good. The Lord had to clarify.
God didn't give us the law, God gave the Jewish people the law. There is a lot to be learned in it, but I just don't have the patience or time. God gave us Jesus Christ, I'm certainly not made perfect by the Jewish law.
Jesus Christ referenced the Old Testament, I forget the exact number, almost 500 times in His Words. Most were fulfilled prophecies. It was that important to Him.
