25 CRASH MAUL HORROR Wealthy tourists and ex-athlete ‘eaten by BEARS after helicopter comes down and beasts drag them from crash site’ Olivia Burke posted 2 years ago by aslan_is_0n_the_m0ve 2 years ago by aslan_is_0n_the_m0ve +26 / -1 17 comments share 17 comments share save hide report block hide replies
Glad somebody else said this. Those things are the weak sister among helicopters. Good for cheap training and that’s it.
I used to spray with a Soloy converted Bell-47... tons of power in a tried and true airframe.
Our competitors got themselves a trial contract with R-22s and tried to poach pilots from us (this was around the time Robbies first came out).
I went over to their side of the field to take a look at their machines.
The label on the bottom of the main rotor blades warning people to NOT pull down on them was all I had to see.
The accident rate (lots of tails breaking off) later confirmed my good judgement.
