People just have to remember that myocarditis is (literally) heart (card) muscle (myo) inflammation (itis). Heart muscles re-generate very slowly compared to the rest of the body, since they are constantly in use. If there's one muscle you really don't want to damage, it's this one. Even "mild" myocarditis can be troublesome, just like how hitting your head can lead to potentially severe trauma.
