Wow, my state (TN) is #50, the cheapest. Nice to know. No state income tax, reasonable sales tax, Constitutional Carry state, and is quite a beautiful place to live.
Lived in Franklin, TN and Fairview. Housing costs offset many of those benefits. Hard to imaging it being the cheapest.
The housing market is still skyrocketing in Middle TN. Housing is not cheap in some counties.
I would for sure live there if I didn't already live in TX.
Ditto.!
Good luck. You're going to need it now that the whole country knows.
Actually, I've considered moving there. But if I did, I'd want enough land to setup a shootin range. How would that go over?
Most cities and towns have restrictions about shooting inside city limits (except in the obvious case of self defense). But most counties don't have that restriction. I can tell when a gun show is in progress, my neighbors across a valley shoot their new toys. I hear shooting all the time in the immediate area around me, but to my knowledge only one homicide was committed in the past 10 years or so. I use a local range myself, being more thoughtful toward my neighbors AND not wanting to advertise that I'm a shooter.
Good to know. I'd want to be a few miles out of town, depending on the size of the town.
You may have me as a neighbor early next year. Which cities would you recommend? Somebody told me Knoxville is a good choice.
In other words, living in Knox County is good but I wouldn't live in the city. Those other nearby towns I mentioned are very livable.
Knoxville city is a blue city, but it's surrounded by a red Knox County. Nice towns close to Knoxville are Lenoir City, Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Powell.
