I think the biggest question I have is one that isn't really explained; What is a virus? What is it's purpose? Why do they exist? Is it some type of population control device? If so, what dictates the appearance of a virus? How or what is the mechanism of creation? Everything we attribute to Nature is cause and effect. This is typically easily discovered and studied, utilizing the scientific method. Why is virology so difficult to study?
According to current accepted science, they cannot reproduce themselves, they cannot be killed with antibiotics, they aren't alive, but they aren't not alive. The entire debate is difficult to grasp. Why can viruses infect one person, but another in close contact is immune. Strength of immune system? Why are fragments of DNA found, but not a complete whole DNA sequence? If they have macrovirus structures, like in the pictures, why don't we have a complete DNA structure? Is the lack of a complete DNA sequence untrue?
I truly do not know the answers to any of these questions. I am not a member of medical science. These are just questions I have. I would like to understand, but the whole topic is overzealously combative. Difficult to have constructive and useful conversations about.
Yes, DextertheCat, it appears that way to me also. And like most of us, I'd need months or years to study the topic and the many related topics before I could come to reasonable certainty on the issue. It's a huge rabbit hole that I don't have enough time or interest to follow; people who spent years getting medical degrees can't agree on the answer and neither can I without turning this into a full-time job. So: sorry I posted this. If there's malfeasance or error in the establishment view of viruses, I look forward to the necessary paradigm shift, but I'll watch from a distance.
I'll poke around a bit, to see what I can find out. It certainly seems to be a highly controversial topic. I have a theory about what viruses may be, but it is still very earlier for me to speculate with any degree of confidence. Just a breeze in between my ears, at this point. Hopefully a new age of enlightenment is just around the corner.
