He posted a picture of a slice of meat and said it was a James Webb photo of proxima centuri. Thousands and thousands believed him.

"Picture of Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to the Sun, located 4.2 light years away from us. It was taken by the James Webb Space Telescope. This level of detail... A new world is unveiled everyday," he told his more than 91,000 followers on Sunday.

Klein admitted later in a series of follow-up tweets that the image was, in fact, a close-up of a slice of chorizo taken against a black background.

That's why trusting the "experts" is often a bad idea.

Well, this is odd. You have both of our tags on the same line, so I guess this blows my theory out of the water. Hmm....

Yeah, I saw this about the chorizo yesterday. I was already under the opinion that the space telescope pictures are all fake. They always look like "artist renderings" to me, not the real deal.

What do you suppose these are pictures of?:
