My guess would be blackmailing the taiwanese govt. China could be supporting Pelosi and moved up the pressure level so that Pelosi can make deals better to her. It might be something like, you give us rights to TSMC and have the technology exported to the u.s. and we will agree to send you X missiles for defense.

Then secretly, pelosi will broker a deal with China to export semiconductor technology to China with espionage happening in the u.s.

It's a real country but it's got a clown party that thankfully isn't in power (kmt party whose members sit on CCP board). KMT also owns majority of the media companies in taiwan so they would be the ones controlling the narrative
