As a six decade resident of often flooded Houston, it is hard to predict when and where catastrophic or flash flooding will occur.....especially in areas that have hilly terrain like Kentucky. However, local National Weather Service Offices do issue weather Advisories and Warnings, but it is up to the individual to be aware of and heed those warnings. Flash flooding can occur so quickly, it often precludes an evacuation. Individuals must accept responsibility for themselves and keep abreast of potential threats.....both weather and otherwise.
Yeah I'm in north Alabama and we don't have it that bad cause there are so many mountains but it also rains like 180 days a year and we have high water tables so we occasionally get some big floods in areas where developers didn't know how nasty in gets in the flatland sometimes

SKY Event.... = Southern KY. Everything here has SKY on it.
I doubt that. But Kentucky has been getting crazy ass rainfall. I kind of am tempted to learn how to join rescue teams for this type of event
I’m right in the middle of it. It’s nothing out of the ordinary. 3 years ago we had an entire bus parking lot submerge.
KY is known for all of its cave systems due to the constant flooding and receding.
It may be weird for some but honestly nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. I think social media makes it more known about

Here in OK we get flood warnings all the time, the rain comes fast and hard. In michigan the rain was slower and lasted a long time.
if you need to wait for some gub'mint official to tell you to move to higher ground during flooding.... you deserve to stay with the fishes....
They do send out flash flood warnings. This kind of flooding happens fast.
