All cities look beautiful in two scenarios.... from the air at 30,000 feet and in CGI. In fact, all weapons systems work PERFECTLY.... in CGI. So do concept cars and flying cars and whatever else one can think of. But at ground level and in reality, things never quite work out as planned, now do they?
If the Saudis tried to build this, I can confidently predict cost overruns, people's reluctance to move there, breakdown after breakdown of critical infrastructure, and the harsh climate will degrade the project AS IT'S BEING BUILT.
And then you have the basic thing that all utopians ignore.... human nature. Contractors will engage in cost-cutting and inferior materials, residents would form cliques and even gangs, a criminal element will take root and prosper, and other people will flee the prison.
Think of Three Gorges Dam....but filled with people. But man, the CGI looks so BEAUTIFUL!
It does look beautiful but you must be a city planner. Yes. I would believe cost over run.
No, not a city planner, just a lot of experience at life and observations over many years.
Smart man.
200 meters wide? 500 meters high? Lawdy that sounds claustrophobic.
I’m from the Grasslands..you can see a storm coming from miles and miles.
No thanks.
They packed them in like sardines.
whatever happened to their last smart city of the future? The one that used building shapes to direct wind an shadow to keep things relatively cool.... The also had subterranean tunnels for garbage removal, An advanced rail system and research libraries..
Have they created two?
I don't know this was from years ago... Maybe they just rebranded the one, or it was a different ME country..
You will own nothing and you will be happy. NOT.
