Ha ha no, anonymous message boards are different. They even have a different name. Instead of social media, they're usually called message boards or forums.
When people say social media, they mean Truth Social, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Youtube, Pinterest, etc., etc. I've never had a social media account and never will. (BTW plenty of forum members have expressed that exact same sentiment right here on GAW.)
That said, people are free to call message boards social media if they like. Freedom of speech FTW
Remind me again why I need to be on any "social media platform" since I never have been
Poe's law makes it difficult to spot trolls from the ignorant.
Media = Images, videos, audio, text
Social = more than just you sitting in your mom's basement
Social Media Platform... the place you are on, right now.
Now, if you're trying to be edgy claiming you've never been on the TOP 5 Social Media Sites... by being a boomer and referring to those top 5 as "ANY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM" that's not really a flex. It just means that you've probably never maximized your earnings potential.
It's physically impossible for me to maximize my work without involving those crap sites.

Nah. This is just an anonymous message board. I scarcely glance at usernames. It's all about the messages and information, not the individual people.
I draw a sharp line of demarcation between message boards and social media, which is ALL about people, their GROUPS they "identify" with, their hobbies, their life patterns and friends and family, photos, etc., and followers followers followers!! LIKES!!! LIKES!!! Pleeeze, pleeeze LIKE me!!!
No one else has to make that distinction. Each to his own (or, one might use the worn-out expression "You do you" :).
So my take is this is an information war we're in (well, information is a primary component/battleground in it), and TS has some good accounts to follow to get some info that doesn't hit here (although of course with more of us on it bringing such things over, that gap is closed somewhat).
Now, I still don't really like the Twitter-feed format. It would be less clutter/repeats if I turned off re-truths but then I'd miss some things too. And the other issue besides the high volume is also that the little guy doesn't really get to propagate info. Board format means you post something hot, it's gonna bubble up and be seen.
Between the two therefore it's GAW hands-down, but it's worth being on TS for some extra stuff.
Oh and it's also worth being on there for Steve Inman alone - that dude is fucking hilarious.

this is more a Forum than Social Media in the common sense of the word.
