I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary in my area. It's summertime, so it's hot a good number of days, and it rains sometimes. If the rain comes on a hot enough day, we have a thunderstorm, as heat provides the energy. We're actually having a storm right this minute.
Younger people won't remember the worse weather of the past. I have a collection of local weather records going back to the 1930s. 1952 was an especially hot year with a lot of 100+ days. 1954 was hot here as well. I remember in the 60s not being able to do anything but sit in the living room with sweat pouring off of me, as well as my family. There was no a/c back then, except in some of the stores downtown.
