Most diesel refineries are on the east coast and will be shut down by October. Someone in the business said a chemical necessary to the process will be gone by then due to “supply chain issues.” I do know that that was one of the things the railroads were going to quit shipping.
Sorry I don’t have more substantial information. I don’t suppose it will be easy to get any sauce for this. If anyone has a relative or someone they know in the business it would be great to get more information.
I believe you might be referring to DEF, a separate additive that newer Diesel engines are required to add to their fuel. This is another reason I love my 2008 Ford F-250 —- no DEF required and NO electronics to be tracked. Besides, you can’t haul horses with a Tesla.
DEF is actually fertilizer - urea.
So then just pee in the fuel tank?
Would probably work, or just “delete” the DEF system. There are firmware updates to make it show as having def still so you don’t get a light on the dash, or just get an old truck.
