It's the photo itself. It's either faded or it's a sepia filter or something like that.

My point is, not good lighting.

But they hate beauty anyway, so maybe they did that on purpose.

Even with regular photography, I just think that once you enter into that Hollywood Dimension - it just sucks the entire life out of you.
