But Aug 9th last year was touted as a 3 year delta and everyone got just as excited. Why is this differnet? Are we going to see it as a 5 year delta next year?
Q1827 on 9 Aug 18 says showtime. So my question is, did anything "happen" on this date in any of the intervening years that anons could have called showtime, the way we're doing with the feds raiding Mar-a-Lago?

All of those other deltas, there was no showtime.
This time, we are not sure it is showtime. Future will prove past. But it sure feels showtimey.
