She's right in that western medicine and holistic health are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Her problem is she hasn't been able to commit to a side.. They are incompatible with each other. Pick a side lady. I dumped the western model years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for both my health and my finances.
Preventative. First I had to cure myself of some lifelong mystery illness that doctors where just "treating" every year, keeping me in the poor house and destroying my health more and more in the process. That is a long story but bottom line I did genetic testing and put myself on a strict elimination diet for 2 years. The elimination cured me of my symptoms but the genetic testing is where I found out what the real problem was. Now I just maintain a healthy lifestyle, avoid the foods that were literally killing me, and I'm doing great. Same was done for my husband except we knew his problems, and with western medicine treatments it was only getting worse. A simple dietary change cured him. It's amazing to know that almost every ailment bothering people is caused by, and cured by: diet and environmental exposure. (environmental exposure is everything we touch, consume, and breath and the vast majority of our toxic environmental exposure is coming from things we voluntarily buy from the store and eat or rub on ourselves.) It's our modern way of life that's killing us.
Don't conflict emergency surgery with "healthcare". No one is going to reattach a finger with an herb. And the rest of your post shows you don't clearly understand the difference between the western medicine model and the holistic model and the grifters who dwell between them. I'm sorry but the two models are incompatible. One will cure you, the other will simply "treat" you, and likely kill you in the process.
Because you are grouping emergency care with health care. These are two different things. The so called "health care" industry is worthless. You want nothing from them unless you want them to keep you sick. They can't cure anything. All they do is treat symptoms.
I happen to be certified in holistic nutrition myself so yes i'm very opinionated on this, plus I lived though it as I had a serious disease for over 20 years that went undiagnosed and they were killing me slowly with yearly procedures that were only causing more disease in my body.
You also have a different idea of holistic health than I do, as I don't rely on supplements and wont take anyone seriously who wants to just prescribe supplements to me as a cure. I think most ND's are grifters. The only person with a "practice" I would ever consider would be a FMD. That is all. And even that depends on the person because if they start talking to me about supplements I'll walk out on them. The ones who are worth a damn look to identify and cure the underlying cause and not treat just the symptoms. And since over 75% of our "health care" costs in this country are literally due to lifestyle, lifestyle changes can cure the vast majority of our issues, but western medicine would rather prescribe a pill for every ill. ND's are the same, except they grift with a supplement for every ill instead. Also worthless.

What form of holistic medicine are you following now?

Would you like to share what kind of diet has been working for you?
