Agreed, cost effective solid-state batteries the big hurdle. However, as long as EVs have any wireless connection to the outside world (software updates) they are a danger to personal freedom. Any remote access (by .gov) means your vehicle could be shutdown/redirected for "reasons".

Hmm I'm guessing you haven't bought a new car in the last decade.
They are all connected to the internet now.
Have purchased 4 used vehicles in that timeframe but none newer than 2015 and all with basic telematics i.e. stripped.
