There’s enough garbage floating around the ocean, we don’t need to put more of it there. Besides we don’t know what the toxicity of those panels include, and it would be nice for creatures in the ocean to just live where they were created to live. I mean with all of the masks that are floating around the ocean now, it’s just ridiculous.
Fusion has been grid ready for decades. It's been kept secret by the DOE because it would be "too disruptive to society." Translation: certain people would no longer make trillions of dollars.
The solar panels can go on the buildings. They need shingles and siding, get double duty out of those wear items. Nobody is complaining about building waste yet.
Also the ocean doesn't look black, but solar panels do.
There is one part of the idea that's interesting. If the solar farm is several time zones west it will totally squash the duck curve.
The area of solar panels needed to power the world is probably not enough to affect the climate. But the manufacturing of them might.
what would be the effects of blocking solar to the ocean on the wild life that inhabit the ocean? would the solar panels you expect to deploy block mammals from getting access to the surface? would plankton not get the proper sunlight it needs? why does man need to get in the way of God's created processes for our habitat?
Can't block too much ocean, claims are 400 Sq miles would gen enough power for usa, But why not 40 miles and get that 10%? And its not all at one facility.
You know what also absorbs solar radiation quite well? Plankton. Blocking out the oceans surface with solar panels at any scale that would generate enough energy to make any difference whatsoever in terms of climate heat let alone energy demand would directly impact and destabilize the oceans food chains. And how are you proposing the solar energy generated by the panels would get to electric distribution networks? Wirelessly?
I'd read that 400 sq miles would provide enough power for the entire US, but i'm not suggesting it as a way to provide ALL energy needs. There are lots of ways to produce energy and using what makes sense on a small scale is going to be an answer. ..
There is NO good place for solar.
There is, outer space.

Masks by the multi-billions by now...
The Sun is entering a grand solar minimum, why would you want to stop radiation warming the water?
Solar is a psyop in my opinion just like Global Warming (tm), virtually free energy awaits us.
I know Tesla did a lot of research, but not sure what his results were.
Yeah exactly, I can feel it in my bones though, they are sitting on something(s) absolutely revolutionary.

I believe it, to quote Mr Robot, "Fuck society."

Good points..
Think plankton is better ,ask a fish.

The sea is a harsh mistress.
What the fuck have you been smoking?
