...{edit, removed swipe} You truly believe that senator Joseph McCarthy was "attacking people for their ideas?" No. He was a US senator doing his constitutional duty to expose literal Soviet spies within the US govt. and media establishment- and he was proven right, 50 years after his death! The Soviet agents, and assets he named were indeed Soviet assets working to undermine the USA. Perhaps you missed that detail?
