They also have shittily planned houses with concave designs. It means they have unfavorable ratios of surface area (opportunities for heat transfer) to volume of living space, which makes them energy inefficient.

Really? The roofs look convex to me.

And image searches for concave/convex house designs didn't help me either.

The footprints of the houses. For example L-shaped instead of just being rectangular.
