I think this may be why they have been playing up DeSantis. The DS may be thinking that if they cut the head off the "snake" (Trump), then the entire MAGA movement will die off. So, in order to prepare for that contingency, they (Team Trump) have found an "heir apparent" to keep the movement alive and moving forward. I have zero hard evidence of this; it's just my speculation.
