They had to put in a lot of effort to recreate that look. As I recall, the columns were filled with an endless array of cardboard cutout people.
Probably accounted for a years production in the cardboard cutout industry.
What inauguration? Wasn't it a sparsely attended event?
I was searching around for an article about it. Based on what little I found there was a mention of flags being placed on the lawn (where for any other inauguration would be people). Anyway, my bad on mixing it up with cardboard cutouts.
