Don’t focus on the guy on the gurney with sever head, neck, and back trauma. Disregard the fact that he is a he and as such, was not made immobile for transport to prevent further injury. Disregard the black strap around his neck or the quick release belts used to secure the patient. Forget all that. Look at the rectangular vent hole cut by fire fighters. Using a k12 saw, the blade can easily cut through the roofing material and support joists/trusses. You would NEVER cut that big of a vent to clear smoke. A 12 inch blade can easily cut most of the way through a joist, destroying any strength a roof structure still has. One cut joist may be acceptable. 8 to 10 joists cut just made a very dangerous situation much worse.
One last thing. It’s august, who has their pool covered? That must be a mesquite paradise.
