I got chills down my spine. I visited London & other areas of the UK in 2014 for an extended period of time. Had a lovely trip, felt safe, and was struck by the kindness of native Britons—the gentleman at the airport taxi stand who told me a train into London was much cheaper than a taxi ride, and personally walked me to the ticketing area. The owner of the hostel who welcomed me like an old friend. My friend’s host when she attended boarding school there for 6 months in high school—a DELIGHTFUL older gentleman and his granddaughter who set out a beautiful tea for us. The British people and culture are incredible. I just wish they weren’t being erased.
