How about QUALITY vs. QUANTITY?

I'd rather each mother raise 4 kids that are worth something... rather than having 10 kids that are raised like weeds.

Most of the great men and women from my grandparents generation came from families of more than 4 kids. No loss of quality.

I agree; It's better to raise a good arrow than a defective one. Any number of good arrows will obliterate any number of defective arrows. Furthermore, if one knows they couldn't raise up good arrows and either they decided not to make arrows or they already had one but decided to pass the the arrow over to someone who can, then they are doing right by that.
