Actually, Google's sleazy, anti-conservative, rabid leftist tactics helped raise some serious red flags for me and start me down a quest for the truth ... Which eventually led me to discover GAW. Silver lining. I look forward to a time when information sources will be honest and truthful, but for now, just to be aware of these types of issues is important.
Related: There is a newer search engine out called freespoke that anons might want to explore. Be wary and don't trust any of them blindly. This one I've heard some positive feedback on and some not-so-much. I ran a few tests on controversial subjects just to check them out and they seem decent, but others had some valid points of contention/disappointment worth considering.
Similar results on freespoke searching J6. Go to page 500 and a lot of the same headlines and articles on beginning pages, including the Wikipedia, NPR, MSN, etc. Certain topics are only giving results that are mainstream. Occasionally I could find a Breitbart result, but that was about it. I had a little more variety using TorOnion, but it still seemed throttled.
I do a great deal of research and I have noticed a huge change in search results in the last 6 months. I have tried various search engines and none are giving me the same depth of results I was used to getting. It seems they are shutting the internet down. If the exact titles are not known, it seems almost impossible to get at articles or docs that used to come up simply doing a topic search. The articles and docs are out there, they are just not going to be accessed by searches. Q said to learn to archive offline - if for nothing more than keeping a record of what is actually out there.
Your recent search results are disheartening though not surprising. One thing I've done in the past is add a source to a search, like "January 6 Breitbart". Unfortunately that won't pick up some of the smaller, independent truth outlets one may not be aware of, but at least you can get more conservative hits versus leftist garbage.
They're not shutting shit down, they're just masking it. I'm hoping after the midterms we can start to turn a lot of the BS around. Perhaps some deep-pocketed leaders can hone a search engine like freespoke or another and get some good algorithms in place to kill this commie BS.
I ran the J6 test on freespoke after watching OP's video and noticed the Wiki-etc crap also, but it seems wiki, in particular, is running some sort of multiple version trick in addition to multiple instances of the same version. a good programmer can filter out all kinds of commie BS. I guess I'm optimistic.
I did get a few more results on freespoke, but they were mostly mainstream news outlets and subsidiaries, like local news. The information is out there, but it is as you say, buried by the search algorithms. Many of the headlines were pretty much the same. You would think with such a generic term like Jan 6, although newly politically charged, that all kinds of results should come up. Every year has a Jan 6 and no results came up regarding things like - what happened on this day jan 6 - of any year. That shocked me somewhat as that would be a result I would expect to get.
This does not just involve political issues. I have noticed the search throttling when it comes to scientific and medical research results as well. It is though the public library has decided that we can only have access to certain books in one particular part of the library. The rest of the books are still there, but there are barriers erected to keep the free flow of inquiry away. Most people give up at the slightest resistance. Only the die hards in search for knowledge figure out ways around the barriers. We are here.
I guess it would be too much to hope for a whistleblower who could disclose the exact algorithms that are being used at these anti-truth SE filter companies. I imagine the access to these algos is beyond highly-restricted, like Colonel Sanders' KFC fried chicken recipe with a veritable army surrounding it.
That said, simply ignoring the SE company commies and creating a new, better, non-censoring SE would have about two-thirds of their current user base simply turning their backs on the commie BS.
Related to this and all else going on... At some point in time - and sooner vs later would be preferable - we have to eliminate the goon hit squads that threaten, blackmail and murder good people trying to speak the truth and lift up their fellow decent human beings.

Freespoke seems to have the same problem as described in the vid. I use Startpage, same thing there also.
