"Everyone is talking about immortality in Silicon Valley."
"We don't have to wait for the second coming of Christ to solve death. A couple of geeks in a laboratory can do it.....you can create completely inorganic life forms. It'll be the greatest revolution in biology ever." "Will we still be human?" "Not in the sense that we understand humanity today." -Yuval Noah Harari

There must be at least a MILLION ways for humans to be 'like' our precious Lord God; being immortal is not one of them. I - for one - have no issue with death being a transformation into eternal life. God is God. I am not. I like it that way. So, let's see:
Garden of Eden? Be like God by knowing the difference between good and evil? WRONG! Using their approach, they only succeeded in bringing evil into the world.
Sweet Home allah-Babylon? Be like God by building right up to where He lives? Uhhh, no. What we've wound up with is what the Temptations warned us about, way back in the seventies, "Ball of Confusion"
Der Nu Wherled Odur? Be like God by bringing EFFERY VUN into submission using the great reset? (Seig Heil, y'all!) Smells pretty vichy to me. God is forever free, fresh, clean, new and alive. So can we also be, in His eternal, loving arms - starting NOW. The WEF reeks of death eternal. Could anything be any LESS like God than Bill Gates, George Soros, Klaus der Schwabbie-Dobbie, along with the Biden and Clinton criminal cartels? Have you ever heard ANY of these clowns uplifting the name of Jesus our Savior & Master?
Seeking first the Kingdom of God? Be like God by doing our best to imitate His beloved Son? Loving God first and foremost and our neighbors as ourselves? We could do worse. As u/LanaForge has commented above: we have eternal life already. We can choose to reflect God and imitate Him and LEARN from Him and LOVE Him and be reunited with Him eternally. Or we can squander every energy and every possibility trying pointlessly to be (equal to) 'like God'.
Not the original lyrics... but: "Don't 'cha play the King of Diamonds, boy. He will beat you and he's able." "The King of Kings is always your best bet..." "It seems to me some fine things have been laid upon your table." "Why do you only want the things that you can't get?"
