I could honestly live there if things weren’t so bad. My favorite area us Olympic Peninsula Beaches in WA though.
In fact I wrote this about the place where I laud my dad’s and Grama’s ashes.
THIS
This, is where the water goes It’s where, It ebbs and flows
This, Is where I find myself Wandering, among the kelp
This is where I hide my dreams It’s where I find my sanity
This is where, I find reprieve This is where I dream
And I get lost within my thoughts I lose all track of time
It’s where the rockhound looks Among the kelp and sand
The sea, it hides great mystery
And this is where the water flows And where I find myself
Yes, I get lost within my thoughts
And this is where I sing and pray Where I’d love to spend each day
Because It’s where I feel close and can converse With the mighty God who created the universe
He created all and called me by name
He showed me love when I was all alone He told me in him I was always home
So you see, the sea is where I find my peace Where I can hear and see and feel released
Released from all my fears, my pain Released from struggles, arguments, worries and drains
Where I laid my dad and gram to rest And where I feel and find myself, I am blessed
What an expressive and sensitive person you are! I think it's a real gift to be able to frame and describe how you feel in all these different ways.
Thanks for sharing the poem. My dad died in 2018 and I poured about 1/10 of his ashes into a river in Hay-on-Wye, a beautiful town where there is a famous literary festival. The rest of his ashes are under a particular new tree in a park in the UK midlands.
The ashes kind of sank into the river and just sat on the river bed in an un-poetic manner. They went all over my shoes in the park. That would have amused him, he'd have written a wry poem about it, he did that kind of thing.
