To add to MilitaryJustice's point, Satan is indeed a fallen angel. Like all angels, this means that Satan and his demons are primarily spiritual beings. While there are many anecdotes of Satan/demons taking physical form, the Bible doesn't confirm this ability, though it does speak of angels taking on the appearance of humans. The only spiritual being who has definitively taken physical human form is Jesus Christ.
