I think that socialists think that gov is good and individual people are too selfish to be a benefit to society on average. THey need to be ruled to be well behaved and share resources. NPC socialist do not trust individuals to have emergent additive good behaviour or be self regulating in small groups. socialists only trust governments .

Don't try to tell them that governments attract some of the worst people.

In a way,socialists betray themselves by projection as being selfish because they imagine everyone else to be.
