Let's just say you are an evil cabal and you're determined to kill off as much of the world's population as possible, how many methods are available?

One other thing to mention.
Lock and Key.
Consider this.
Chemicals react. Interactions between molecules exist.
How might we utilize this nature to craft a poison? one that you can "prime" your target with and activate whenever you please?
One chemical serves as the Lock. For example, you introduce a substance into the diet of the herd. On its own, it does little to nothing to harm the livestock.
Then, you prepare the Key.
Once you are ready, and the herd is fully primed with your Lock, you clamp down on them with the Key.
Suddenly, all those who accepted the Lock are snared and you hold the Key to relieve them of their illness.
Provide the antidote, which severs the reaction between the Lock and Key, and they will hold you up as a god and savior.
This builds the necessary trust that must accompany the Temptation.
Who would dare enter into a contract with those they do not trust?
The scheme would look like this:
Introduce a potato chip brand. Let's call it "Bingos".
Bingos has a dye in it that makes it a vibrant yellow/orange.
You market Bingos to your target demographic. Middle-aged white people? Sure, there's a target.
Bingos is the Lock.
Years pass, and you introduce a Pharmaceutical drug to handle high cholesterol, most likely associated with the oils used in Bingos.
Market it towards those same Middle-aged white people. Let's call it "Enlivena" in keeping with the stupid new-age naming conventions they use.
Enlivena is the Key.
Bingos and Enlivena react in the blood and cause diabetes.
Once the diabetes takes hold, you got them.
Now offer them insulin, as the Antidote, ensuring they are always dependent on you for survival. It also allows them to continue eating the Bingos.
When they are good little boys and girls, you can reduce the Enlivena dosage. It will relieve their diabetes symptoms temporarily. Simultaneously, you can introduce new medications and blame it on those for the reduction in symptoms.
The new medications also react with other fast foods, dyes, snacks, etc.
Which ensures more Locks and Keys shackle your "patient."
Round and round we go.
Until they are well and truly your slave. If they deviate from your "treatment plan" now, they will surely die from all the diseases you've gifted them.
This is the "Magic" of the Pharmakeia.
This is the Lock and Key.
Where the Poisoner appears as the Savior.
Where the Slavemaster convinces the Slave he is their god.
There is only One True God.
