Tarasenko is a Ukranian surname. The article claims the businessman is a "Russian" oligarch, which may, or may not be true, but that last name is ethnic Ukrainian origin.

Names ending -nko -нко are of Ukrainian origin, but during the USSR people moved around so much and many Russian citizens still have such names.
