Any Veteran who has to use their system for medical care is a fool. I have been involved with them for years with my work and I can tell you......well maybe it's not worse than private care. I also have been involved with outsourced providers and it's a nightmare as well sometimes. The VA is nothing more than pill pushers! They have sunk billions of $ into the computer system and they have so f***ed it up! What a damn disaster. Worse than the DMV
I use the VA. I take zero pills. It's no better and in some cases worse than civilian Healthcare but there really isn't much difference.
Same doctors that see us end up in private practice someday so u have the same docs too. Difference is I don't pay a dime. Why, because I paid up front with my body.
The only fools are people who don't know the difference.
So I disagree with you. I had a client that had an infection on his foot during the pandemic. We tried everything to get the VA doctor to take it serious. Tried for months to get an outside referral to a vascular doctor. By the time he finally got an appointment with the vascular doctor, he had gangrene so bad, the doc had to amputate his leg 2 days later! I was with him the entire time and I was helping him work thru the VA system. My client did everything possible to get help. BUT he didn't have to pay a penny! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
