This episode of The Outer Limits is particularly pertinent to the times we live in, and the belligerent occupation of America by a foreign military power. As far back as the 1960s, writers were keenly aware of the risk of imposters within our government.
What was once fiction is now a shocking reality. The month of August this year was indeed particularly hot, as we learned of Chinese operatives who had infiltrated our election systems and the lives of our poll workers.
Could such infiltration occur at the highest levels of our government unbeknownst to the people? That was of course a rhetorical question, and one that Anons need not answer. We know the truth of the matter. It is this question that The Hundred Days of the Dragon explored back in 1963.

Those who are interested in this might also enjoy Arthur C. Clarke's short story I Remember Babylon.
One of my favorite authors there...but Robert Heinlein's "the moon is a harsh mistress" is my fave of all time. The parallel's between the story and our 1776 are played well.

Oh, yes. There are many, many old sci-fi movies about exactly that. The theme of "not knowing who you're really dealing with, and how do you tell?" is a very strong one.
A few, just for starters:
John Carpenter's The Thing
They Live
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Day Mars Invaded Earth
Invaders from Mars (different film)
OG Star Trek "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" and "The Enemy Within"
Futureworld (same premise of assassinating and replacing world leaders)
Another Heinlein classic: “The Puppet Masters “.
Not a true sci-fi movie, but Die Another Day was disturbing because I think the doppelganger process actually replaced DNA.
Ooo! I need to find a go way to watch that in the best possible quality.
Top quality!
Twas always a reality, but the veil is failing and more people are awake now than at any other point in history. The awakening was at critical mass long ago, too many were awake to stop the systemic breakdown of the censorship and suppression machine. It was doomed long ago. Much like a motor that has sat doing nothing for years, finally being fired up. It took many cranks, actions and attempts to get here, but the motor is cranking on its own now and soon all the black smoke its bellowing out will clear, and everything will be laid bare for all to see.
