Been saying it for 2 years now, SCOTUS should have nullified the state elections in (at least) GA, PA, WI, MI, AZ. Contingent election should have been held in House and Senate, since there was no Electoral winner, Republicans held the majority of state delegations, still do, Trump/Pence win. This is still the only legal remedy remaining.
Well, the "states" don't convene in the Electoral process. The Electors are appointed and convene (typically at their state capitol), record their votes, and transmit the certificates to the federal government. The states, or at least those listed above, failed the process when they unlawfully appointed Electors who did not win a lawful election. After such failure, there's nothing the state's can do about it. Only SCOTUS can remedy. Role of President of Senate and role of Congress in counting is 99% ministerial (only exception is rejection of certificates that are not in proper form). This is a judicial issue. Always has been. ECA itself is unconstitutional. Maybe one day Judges will actually judge....

Should have allowed the states to reconvene on Jan. 6. Unfortunately a certain someone had other plans!
