Garland/Wray didn't know, because if they did, they would not have allowed it.
About that.
Garland had to get approval from Joe Biden to waive Trump's executive privilege, so how did he not know?
Are you claiming Garland actually takes the FBI on its word and has faith in the institution? If that's the case, how did he get Obama's Supreme Court nomination?
What basis do we have that executive privilege covers any of this? Certainly wasn't in the warrant.
I am not saying that Garland is a good guy, nor that the FBI is a good institution. I am saying Garland is not full on retarded, and would know with certainty such an action would unleash a shit storm on him that he would not want. Nor is it good for the bureau. When it becomes mainstream for sitting members of congress to call for abolition of the FBI, this is very bad. Their merry band of gestapo functions much more efficiently out of the spotlight.
For Garland, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. If he knew, he would have squashed this. If this were sanctioned from the top down, it would not have gone to an epstein magistrate judge. They would have had an appointed and confirmed district court judge issue the warrant. No self respecting magistrate signs a warrant like this. They kick it up to their district court judge boss to make that determination. There were no coordinated remarks. This caught MSM by surprise, along with the usual suspects - schumer, schiff, pelosi, mcconnell, and others. If it came from the top down there would have been a coordinated talking points response. We got nothing but confusion for several days.
The only people who give a shit about the Russia collusion docs are the agents themselves involved in it. They aren't trying to hide all of that. They are trying to figure out what is known. Because many will be testifying in the upcoming Danchenko trial, and if Trump's RICO suit can survive, will be testifying there as well. Better get their damn stories straight or they got a problem. The beauty of the rules of evidence: witness impeachment evidence is not subject to Brady disclosure to the defense. Durham can butthole that evidence until he decides to pull it out during direct/cross examination. Saying the wrong shit could condemn the lot of them. This was a small group black op to conduct this. Hidden from the higher ups. Remember, Garland/Wray had no choice but to take ownership. What would be the response if they didn't? Everyone is saying "FBI is rogue! beyond saving! disband these out of control maniacs!" Imagine Garland being like "Ya, wtf? I didn't tell them to do that!" It would have flat lined the bureau. He had no choice.
