They actually had a class action lawsuit and won. They paid out on a point system that was based on how many days the juvenile was incarcerated. Each point or day they paid $1000 to the individual on the first round. $500 each day the second time and a tiny fraction of that the 3rd time. I dont remember why they paid out 3 different times.
My dumbass figured they would never win and didn't join the lawsuit until the the 3rd round of payments. If I would have joined the lawsuit from the beginning I would have been paid roughly $152,000. I ended up joining the lawsuit on the third round and got a check for $1800 lol.
I should add that the judges and probation officers were straight scumbags about it. They talked my mother out of getting a lawyer claiming it wouldn't help and that I would just be getting 90 days probation.
Instead when I went to court they stood about 10 of us all together in front of the judge Ciavarella. He then read our charges out loud (I got caught smoking weed), found us all guilty, and remanded us to detention center until an opening in bootcamp. Handcuffed, shackled, then put into a holding cell without being able to say a word.
And the victims won't see a penny.
