My "bad" cholesterol dropped significantly when I began eating animal fats much , more than I had. Money limited my diet for a long time, I basically survived on pasta and eggs and soups with bread, using margarines that were supposed to be healthy. I went on the Atkins diet and stopped eating gluten, just for an experiment, I was gaining weight and craving carbs and being petite, carrying extra weight was putting stress on my heart and joints, I have always been physically active. Within a week so many physical discomforts faded away, my blood levels came back great. I have a subscription to Butcher box now for 2 years, and love it. The grass fed beef and organic chicken is cheaper than what I would buy at the co-op or the grocery store. I also do intermittent fasting, have no cravings, (except for salt sometimes, when it is hot out). There are days when I eat a vegetarian meal, twice a week, but bring on the rib eye!!!!!!! Right now its getting expensive, so more chicken and big cuts of meat I can use in stews and soups, or with rice and lots of garlic and spice, (I love so called ethnic food). Whole food, not processed is so important. We werent supposed to eat food out of boxes. My only worry is that all my prepper stash is processed, I have buckets of Mountain House and others in my basement, and of course, canned chicken and SPAM! I imagine if and when I have to use that stuff, my health will suffer.
