Well, I remember McCain picked her because she was actually a conservative. He had no support among the Tea Party or constitutionalist conservatives. Palin was meant to help him and she did! She was much more popular than him because of her conservative beliefs. In fact, the McCain campaign staff treated her horribly because she became the famous one on the ticket...she completely outshown McCain and he and his campaign decided to shut her down. They cut down on her time speaking and the events she would go to. McCain's ego coulldn't handle her popularity among conservatives and others.
