I've always thought that the scare event would be something that actually happened - as opposed to being a threat, speculation or prediction.

So far, nothing really qualifies.

Covid and the vaccines are golbal tragedies but they happened / are happening slowly and I think the scare event is going to be sudden and shocking. Either it will be an event of a few seconds or minutes or it will unfold over just a few days.

In either case I also think it (if it happens) is going to be transitory. Here today, and gone in a few days or a few weeks or months.
