This! I hear about it multiple times a week from my patients (I’m not a doctor but work in the medical field) and I’ve experienced it as a patient myself. The lack of critical thinking skills is wide spread across all specialties and is sobering to think about, but also makes sense when you remember that the 3rd leading cause of death in the US is from medical negligence/malpractice/errors. Think about that. The 3rd leading cause of death is due to medical errors and is only behind heart disease and cancer. There are a few who are actually very good doctors and it shows in their patient care and the decisions they make. They are the rare exception and the cockatoo docs are sadly the rule. 🤷🏼♀️
