WHAT DOES EVERYONE PAY FOR PROPERTY TAXES IN THEIR STATE? I've listed mine below. We're in DELAWARE!
I'm in lower Delaware (beach area) now for over 10 years. We moved from Annapolis, MD. Our property taxes on a 1/2 acre w/home in MD were over $10k when we moved. Here in lower Delaware our taxes on 1 acre w/4900 sq ft home is only $2,100. And we get a $400 credit on our tax return each year as seniors (we are young seniors!)
And we have no sales tax. Fast food, groceries, merchandise, restaurant meals, gas, etc.!
West Central TX in a city over 100,000 1 acre 1650 sq ft. $3200 a year. No income tax. Property tax along with income tax needs to be eliminated. State sales taxes should be enacted based on population and miles of highways. Public school system eliminated and small home schools allowed to flourish.
That’s where you need to be in TX for low taxes. Get nearer a bigger city where values are spiking and you can end up with 3 acres and 3200 sq ft and be paying $20,000 in taxes.
Agreed
Yes! And tax credits for home school! State/County/Local accredited home school curriculum guidelines. Like Trump says, The money should follow the child/student!
Think about how that would get rid of the bureaucratic swap educational system! Allow the parents in their local/counties to set the curriculum and allow the state to subsidize/fund those alternative educational systems. Pro-active agenda instead of re-active educational dictatorship!
SW rural Missouri, 25 acres with home/barn, $600 a year.
640 acres, 2200sq feet home 3300$ Canuckistan pesos in north central Canuckistan. But I live where no one else wants too and that’s way too much. I have no social services except road clearing and even that is barely done. I was paying 300$ before they built a provincial road down my access way
2600 sq ft home with well and septic on less than 1 acre in western NC $2500.00 property taxes per year
About $18k a year - 2900 sw ft on .25 acre. Northern Commiefornia.
Holy guacamole! That's a lot of avocados!
Yep-it's disgusting. It includes some taxes from woke, useless measures that passed. We are planning our escape but have 10 years. Thankfully we have a solid core of friends who are all very conservative so we stick together.
Hello neighbor. We pay a bit less than you but we are a bit north of the beach. Lower Slower beats living across the bridge any day.
South LA 🦞 1200yr 1/3 acre modest home just under 2k sq ft
$7300 outside of San Antonio. 1750 sq ft, 0.18 acres. No income tax but the property taxes are killing us. We're voting with our feet and saying goodbye to the Lone Star State! Heading for the Smoky Mtns, near family.
Outrageous! We did our homework on taxes, crime, state/local government and local police/fire structure. We were planning 20 years ahead for retirement and limited income family budgeting structure. At the time we moved ten years ago, Delaware was ranked #5 in the country as 'best states for retirement.'
Northern CT 1250 sq ft home on .8 of an acre is $5k.
Small home in OK,1000 A YEAR.
2100$ on a 650sq foot home on .035 acre in Minnesota..
It has gone up from 800$ a year since I bought it in 2006
Central Mass - 1300 sq ft home w/2 acres we pay about $3200 a year
Property tax $300 mo. Principal $240. Interest $640. East Texas 2300 sq ft 2/3 acre
$5,600
Wow! We have friends from N Jersey who just bought here in lower Delaware. Friends from Manhattan, too. They were shocked at the low property taxes.
