Shouldn't these people calling false reports be charged and punished? I know whenever I've called something in to the troopers, I always have to give my name and phone number. The officers could call them back at the number they gave before responding to be sure they're legit.

This kind of behavior torques me off. The troopers and police have enough on their plate without the fraudsters getting involved.
